Description
Oakfield is a mid-19th century house constructed of stone with a slate roof. The building has two storeys and features eight bays, with the third bay projecting under a gable and the fourth bay forming an extruded corner. The fifth to eighth bays are recessed. It has deep bracketed eaves and decorative bargeboards, along with rusticated quoins. The windows have flat architraves with small paved casements, while the end four bays contain sashes with glazing bars. The third bay includes a canted bay window with a drip mould and an embattled parapet, and the second bay features a gabled porch with a four-centred entrance and a half-glazed door. There are simple entrances to the sixth and eighth bays, and first-floor entrances to the fourth and fifth bays with fire escapes. A lateral stack is located at the first bay. The left return facing North Mossley Hill Drive has end gabled bays with canted bay windows.
