Description
The wall, railings, and gates surrounding St. James' Churchyard were built in the late 18th century. The structure features a terrace with steps located to the west of the church. There are two main entrances with paired gates on the east side of the yard, along with smaller entrances to the north and south of the terrace. The wall is made of brick and topped with stone coping, while the iron railings have spearhead designs. The entrances are marked by banded stone and brick piers that have dentilled cornice caps and obelisk finials, with iron gates that likely date from around 1900. The railings may have been installed at the same time as the church.
