Description
These are four houses located at 2-6 Orford Street and 2 Sandown Lane, built around 1850. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a hipped slate roof. Each house has two storeys and two bays, with the end bay of No. 2 forming a return to Sandown Lane. The first floor has a sill band, topped with a frieze and cornice. The windows have wedge lintels, and the round-headed entrances are adorned with Doric doorcases. The windows above the entrances are blind. No. 2 has casement windows, No. 4 features sash windows with glazing bars and a two-panel door, while No. 6 also has casements but its doorcase lacks columns, as noted in 1984. The return section consists of three bays with a central entrance.
