Description
Nos 6 and 8 Wood Street are early 19th-century offices with an attached workshop. The buildings are constructed of brick with stone dressings, and the workshop is stuccoed and has a slated roof. They rise to three storeys and have three bays, topped with a pediment. The ground floor features an entrance on the right with a moulded round head supported by consoles, while there is a blocked-up entrance on the left with an inserted entrance to its left. The windows have sills and lintels with cambered tops and channelled margins. All windows are sashed, with those on the first and second floors featuring glazing bars. The attached workshop, located to the east, is a single storey and has three sashes with glazing bars, along with inserted 20th-century openings to the east and five blank upper openings. There are boarded doors at the upper level on the east side, and the building has a three-bay return to Roe Alley, which is a 20th-century rebuilding.
