Description
Calderstones House is a house built in 1828, constructed of stone with a slate roof. The building has two storeys and features ten bays. The first bay projects, as do the last five bays, creating a symmetrical arrangement around a recessed central bay. There is a band above the ground floor, and the second to fifth bays have a first-floor sill band. The top of the building includes a frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The windows are sashed with glazing bars; those on the ground floor, which have a symmetrical arrangement, are adorned with architraves, friezes, and a cornice. The entrance features a tetrastyle Doric portico, and there is a window above with an architrave. The right return consists of five bays with a three-bay bow. The rear of the house has a 20th-century extension for a stage to an open-air theatre.
