Description
Hoarwithy Lodge is a lodge built in 1865 by Sir G. G. Scott. It is constructed from rock-faced stone with ashlar quoins and dressings. The building is one storey and has a T-shaped plan. The end features a canted bay window with a hipped slate roof, which includes 1:2:1 lights with roll moulded surrounds and shouldered lintels. There is a lean-to block at the rear angle and a porch with a hipped roof supported by a round column at the front angle. The gable facing the road has a two-light window set in a segmental-headed recess, with a quatrefoil above it. Some of the glazing includes lattice panels. The lodge is topped with three tall stone stacks with caps. It was originally built as a lodge for Cleveley, which has since been demolished.
