Description

A terrace of four houses built in the 1850s. The houses are constructed of stucco with a slate roof. They are three storeys high, with each house originally having two bays. The central two bays and the end bays project forward, topped with pediments. The façade features angle pilasters and an entablature above the first floor. An attic storey has panelled pilasters. The ground and first floors of the original two bays have tripartite sash windows with panels between them. Other bays have a sill band at the first floor level and a top cornice. All houses have sash windows and plain entrances. Most of the houses retain their original sashes. Number 37 and 39 Peel Street feature a glass lean-to roof, and number 39 has an enclosed porch.
