Description
Nos. 10 and 12 on Prescot Road are two houses built in the 1840s. They are constructed of stucco with a slate roof and stand two storeys high with a basement, featuring a total of seven bays. The first floor has a sill band and deep, boxed eaves, with a pediment above the central bay. The end bays are flanked by panelled pilasters, which have dosserets at the ends.
The windows are detailed with architraves; the first-floor window in the central bay includes a frieze and a consoled cornice. The ground floor windows are sashed without glazing bars, while the first-floor windows have casements, with the central window being blind. The paired entrances are adorned with angle pilasters and an entablature that features wreaths; each entrance has a six-panel door and a 20th-century blind box. The steps are complemented by 20th-century iron handrails, and there is an original iron balcony on the first floor.
