Description

A row of five houses at 17-25 Orford Street, dating to around 1850. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings and have a slate roof. Each house has two bays and two storeys, with a sill band on the first floor and a top cornice. Most windows are sash windows with glazing bars, and have wedge lintels. The entrances are round-headed, featuring consoled doorcases and two-panel doors. Original iron area railings with decorative heads are present. Number 17 has cut brick flat arches above the windows, and retains casement windows; it has a 20th-century door. Number 19 has sash windows without glazing bars, lacks consoles to the doorcase, and also has a 20th-century door.
