Description
The Stables is a stable block built around 1845, designed by H.L. Elmes. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a hipped slate roof and is designed in the Italianate style. The building has two storeys and features eight bays, with the fourth bay projecting under an open pediment. There is a sill band at the first floor and a top frieze and cornice. The ground floor has keyed lintels and sash windows without glazing bars, while the first floor has casement windows. A square-headed coach doorway is present, along with a round-arched window above that extends into the pediment. At the rear, there is a small belvedere-type tower with angle pilasters, round-headed openings that have imposts and keyed archivolts, a deep corbelled cornice, and a hipped roof.
