Description
This street lamp, located between Eldon Grove and Bevington Street, was built as part of the playground in front of Eldon Grove Housing around 1911 or 1912, likely at the beginning of the 20th century. It is made of cast iron and features a large, high square plinth adorned with Greek key ornamentation, which originally included a drinking fountain on two sides. The lamp itself stands above this elevated plinth, supported by a splayed base decorated with a foliage pattern and corner feet. It has fluted high columns with two ornamented arms that hold the lamp. Currently, it is situated in front of a tarmac play area, with a similar lamp located on the opposite side, near Titchfield Street.
