Description

61 and 61A Allerton Road are two houses, likely built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of stone and feature a hipped slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of four bays, with the first bay slightly canted forward and a three-bay return to Quarry Street South. There is a sill band at the first floor level, along with a top frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, although the ground floor windows and those on the return have small-paned casements. There are two round-headed entrances with flat surrounds, imposts, and keys, leading to six-panel doors. The return features blind windows in the first bay and a central square-headed entrance.
