Description

Calf Heys is a house, originally dating from the 18th century, that was altered and extended in 1835 to serve as a parsonage, and is now a private residence. It is constructed of rendered brick, with a slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a receding right wing representing the original house. The architectural style is Regency. The facade is two storeys high and comprises five unequal bays. The front door is offset to the right, and is now accessed via a modern glazed porch. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor windows to either side of the door, and the first-floor windows directly above them, have ten panes in each sash, with half-width marginal panes. The first-floor window above the door, and the two windows on each floor of the 1835 extension to the left, have six panes in each sash. The roof has deeply overhanging eaves with soffits, and is hipped with a low pitch.
