Description
Marsh Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1803, which includes a pair of cottages at the west end that are not part of this listing, all under one roof. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and is rendered at the back and sides, topped with a concrete tiled roof. It has a double pile plan with two bays, facing north, and stands two storeys tall with a symmetrical design featuring gable chimney stacks.
The front of the farmhouse has a central doorway that has likely been altered, featuring a wide semi-circular relieving arch made of brick with stone imposts and a keystone inscribed with "B F Hesketh Esq 1803." This doorway contains a slightly recessed plain rectangular stone doorcase and a panelled door. On the ground floor, there is one window on each side of the door, both are sashed with glazing bars, have stone sills, and splayed heads. The first floor features three similar windows.
