Description
Whitehouse Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1700. It has a pebbledashed exterior and a slate roof. The building follows a three-unit lobby-entry plan, with three bays across the front. The windows have plain reveals; the windows in the second bay have glazing bars and a central sliding sash. The front door is located between the first and second bays and is sheltered by a single-storey porch with a chamfered doorway and a rounded top. Chimneys are situated on the right-hand gable and in line with the left side of the front door. Inside, the central room has a bressummer above the fireplace with a spere, forming the lobby-entry. A spice cupboard is built into the back wall of the hearth, featuring a door with a raised and shouldered panel. Two main axial joists are chamfered with scroll stops, and the common joists are also exposed. The remaining rooms were not inspected.
