Description
Westfield Farmhouse is a house, probably built around 1800, with some remains from the late 17th century. It is rendered and has a slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. The windows are sashed with glazing bars and feature stone sills and lintels. The front door, located between the second and third bays, has plain reveals. There are chimneys situated between the first and second bays and on the right-hand gable. The gable walls show some visible watershot stonework. On the rear wall of the house, now part of a rear extension, there is a plaque inscribed with 'HGA 1740'. A door from this extension leads into the middle room of the front range, opening into a lobby next to the hearth. This room retains a chamfered and stopped firehood bressumer, and the ceiling beam is also chamfered and stopped.
