Description
Street House is a house, probably built in the early to mid 18th century, with alterations made in the mid to late 19th century. It features a brick structure on a stone base, which is rendered. The building has two storeys with an attic and includes a brick band with a dog-tooth course. The windows are composed of two lights with wooden mullions and rendered surrounds, with glazing bars; one window in each pair has a horizontal sash. There is a blank shield located between the second and third first-floor windows. The door, situated between the second and third bays, has a rendered surround and is sheltered by a cast iron trellis porch. The gables are topped with chimneys and have carved bargeboards. On the left-hand gable wall, there is a blocked brick mullioned window with a hood on the first floor. Inside, the house contains a shouldered stone fireplace, axial main ceiling joists with edge roll mouldings, and a dog-leg stair of 18th-century style featuring a closed string and turned balusters.
