Description

Mill House, now a private dwelling, was likely built around 1760 and altered subsequently. It is constructed of graduated, squared sandstone rubble with a felted stone slate roof, and features brick chimneys. The building comprises an L-shaped layout, consisting of a two-unit main range facing the roadside, and a wing on the opposite side. The house is two storeys high. The entrance is located in the re-entrant angle of the rear wing and is protected by a 20th-century glazed porch. There is a three-light casement window on each floor to the left of the porch, and a similar window on each floor of the gable of the main range. These windows have raised sills and most have rectangular lintels. A chimney is present on the wing's gable, and others on the side wall of the main range and at the rear of the main range, where a small ground floor window and two upper casements are also situated. A further chimney is located at the gable of the wing. The property forms a group with the remains of a former windmill nearby.
