Description

This is a row of six cottages located at 56-66 Chapel Street, built in the early to mid 19th century. The cottages have been altered and recently restored. They are constructed from brown brick in Flemish bond and feature a slate roof. The layout is double-depth, with No. 66 at the left end canted forward. Each cottage is single-fronted, and there is a lobby entry situated between Nos. 64 and 66. The cottages are two storeys high, each with one window. The doorways and doors have been altered, while all the windows have been restored to 16-pane sashes with flat-arched heads, except for No. 66, which has windows with wedge lintels and a doorway in the gable wall. There are ridge chimneys on the roofs.
