Description
29 Manchester Road is a mid-19th century caretaker's house for the Manchester Road Methodist Church, now a private dwelling. The building is constructed of rock-faced sandstone with quoins and features a steeply-pitched slate roof, gable chimneys, and stone copings. It has three bays and is single depth with two storeys, including a projecting two-storey porch. The design is symmetrical and in the Tudor style. The porch has an upper storey that slightly overhangs, a chamfered rectangular doorway with a three-light mullioned fanlight, and a two-light window above, along with a carved panel in the gable. On either side of the porch, there is a large six-light window with a high transom, and on the first floor, all windows, including the one in the porch, feature two arched lights with hollow spandrels. The building is included for its group value with the Methodist Church and Manse.
