Description
Potter Ford Farmhouse is a house dating from 1610, with later alterations. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a slate roof, standing two storeys tall. The main part of the house appears to have been altered or rebuilt and consists of three bays, featuring modern windows with plain reveals. The door, located in the left-hand bay, also has plain reveals. To the left, there is a cross-wing that includes a ground-floor window with mullions, which is both hollow-chamfered and chamfered, topped with a hood. On the first floor, there is a reconstructed window with plain reveals and a central mullion. Between the storeys on the right, there is a one-light chamfered former stair window. The chimney on the left-hand wall of the cross-wing has a projecting stack, with additional chimneys located to the right of the second bay and on the right-hand gable. Inside, the cross-wing features a chamfered fireplace with 'EC 1610' inscribed on the lintel, chamfered and stopped ceiling joists, and a timber-framed wall with an original doorway.
