Description
The former stable, now used as a store, is located to the north-east of Number 27 on Church Street in Slaidburn. It is possibly from the late 17th century or incorporates 17th-century features. The building is constructed of rubble and has a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has two bays. The ground-floor window features a chamfered surround, while the first-floor window consists of three lights with mullions, an inner hollow chamfer, and an outer chamfer. To the right of the windows, there is a door with a wooden lintel and a chamfered left-hand jamb. A chimney is situated on the left side of the building. At the rear, there is a window and a door with plain reveals, and the window has a re-set shaped lintel. Inside, two stalls for horses are still present. The roof contains one truss with a tie beam, light collar, and queen struts.
