Description
New Laund Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 18th century, with later alterations and possible earlier remains. It is constructed of sandstone rubble, featuring a slate roof on the front wing and a stone slate roof on the rear. The building has two storeys and a south front that consists of three bays. The windows have plain stone surrounds with square mullions set back from the wall face. The left-hand bay contains a ground-floor window with three lights, while the other bays have two lights. The left-hand ground-floor window has had its mullions extended. The door, located in the second bay, features a plain stone surround with a false keystone cut into the lintel. Approximately three feet from the left-hand gable wall, there is a quoined straight joint that suggests the gable has been rebuilt. The chimney cap, which is set back from the current wall, has a moulded cornice and weathered tabling, and there is a second, later chimney on the right-hand gable. The rear wing includes windows and doors with plain reveals.
