Description
The Congregational Church, built in 1838, is a chapel constructed from squared watershot sandstone, featuring a sandstone plinth, quoins, and a square gutter. Each of its walls consists of two bays, with windows that have glazing bars, plain stone surrounds, semi-circular heads, keystones, and radiating glazing bars. On the south-west wall, there is a door with a plain stone surround located beneath each window. Between the windows, a plaque reads: 'PROVIDENCE CHAPEL ERECTED BY SUBSCRIPTION MDCCCXXXVIII'. The north-west gable wall includes a one-storey porch on its left side, which has been extended. On the right-hand return wall of the porch, there is a door with a plain stone surround and a small window with a plain stone surround, semi-circular head, and keystone to its left.
