Description
This is a farmhouse, likely dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in 1838. The farmhouse is constructed from sandstone rubble and has a stone slate roof. The main two-bay range features mullioned and transomed windows, with ovolo-mouldings on their outer edges, and the stonework has suffered wear and some repairs with cement. The left-hand bay has eight lights on the ground floor and six above, while the right-hand bay has ten lights on the ground floor and eight above. A 2-light mullioned window from the 19th century is located on the ground floor of the left-hand bay. A single-storey gabled porch sits between the bays. The entrance door is set within a chamfered stone surround with a pointed arch. Above the door is a plaque inscribed 'IT 1838'. A one-bay cross-wing extends to the left, featuring 19th-century mullioned windows with four lights on the ground floor and three above. A recessed projection to the left has a 2-light mullioned window between the floors, and a ground-floor doorway placed within the outline of an earlier window opening. Chimneys are present on the left-hand wall of the cross-wing, with a projecting stack, and on the right-hand gable. The right-hand gable has a coping with kneelers and finials.
