Description

Stanley House is an 18th-century building, originally two storeys high, now rendered with pebbledash. The central doorway features a semi-circular head with rusticated long and short jambs and voussoirs, topped with a semi-circular fanlight and a six-field panelled door. The front facade has two windows on the ground floor, three above, and a single window in the gable of the attic storey. A two-storey 19th-century extension is located to the right, also with a gable containing a single two-light window on each storey. A shield of arms with recarved bearings is present, although the crest is weathered and unidentifiable. An eaves cornice with dentils runs along the top. Some windows have hung sashes with glazing bars. The building is part of a group with numbers 33 and 35 Stanley House and numbers 39 and 41, along with St Michael’s Primary School.
