Description
East View is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble with sandstone dressings and features a slate roof. The building has a symmetrical design with a central entrance and gable stacks. It stands three storeys high and has five bays, with chamfered quoins and plain stone window surrounds.
The ground and first-floor windows are sashed, except for the central window on the first floor, which is fixed and has glazing bars, as does the right-hand attic window. There is no central window on the top storey. The entrance door is framed by an architrave, with a pulvinated frieze and cornice above it. The chimneys are topped with caps that have copings and weathered offsets.
On the right-hand (north) gable, there is a two-light chamfered mullioned window on the left side. To the right of this window, there are additional windows with plain stone surrounds on both the ground and first floors, followed by a door that also has a plain stone surround.
