Description
Parker's Arms is a public house that was formerly stables to Newton Hall, dating from the mid-to-late 18th century. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble and features a slate roof. The building has a symmetrical design with two storeys and five bays, accented by projecting quoins. The windows are tripartite with square mullions, except for the windows in the second and fourth bays on the first floor, which have semi-circular heads with plain stone surrounds, projecting keystones, and imposts. In the centre of the first floor, there is a Venetian window with a projecting keystone. Most windows are sashed with glazing bars, although the outer windows on the first floor have been replaced with modern versions that include glazing bars. The doors in the second and fourth bays also have plain stone surrounds with semi-circular heads, projecting keystones, and imposts. The building features gable chimneys, and the interior has been altered.
