Description
Woodgates Farmhouse, built in 1768, is a house constructed from watershot sandstone and topped with a slate roof. It features a double-pile plan and stands two storeys high. The two right-hand bays are symmetrical and include end stacks, with plain stone surrounds framing Venetian windows on the ground floor, which have fluted keystones and small panes in the outer lights. The first-floor windows consist of two lights with square mullions. The main door has a plain stone surround and a fluted keystone above which is a stone tablet inscribed with 'Ricd & Cathae Parkinson 1768 Jubeo profanos hinc Abesse'. To the left, there is a third bay with similar window details made from a slightly different coloured stone. Further left, there is a door with plain stone reveals leading to a wide cart entrance with a triangular head, which connects to an agricultural unit that likely shares the same construction period.
