Description
No. 11 Castle Street has origins dating back to the 18th century. The gable end facing the road is rendered, while the side elevation is constructed of coursed stone. It features coped gable ends with kneelers and rusticated quoins. The building has one window on each of its two storeys, both with stone surrounds. The shop front, which is attractive and dates from the mid to late 19th century, includes carved brackets and a fascia, two windows, and a central door. At either end of the shop front, there are small pediments on trusses decorated with vine leaves. No. 11 is part of a group that includes Nos. 3 to 19 (odd) and the Starkie Arms Hotel, with Nos. 3 to 7 being buildings of local interest only.
