Description

Bridge No. 15 over Lancaster Canal is an accommodation bridge, now serving as a public footbridge, built in 1797 by engineer John Rennie. The bridge is constructed from large rock-faced sandstone blocks and features an elliptical arch with rusticated rock-faced voussoirs and a keystone. It has a hammer-dressed band and angle-humped parapets with rounded coping, along with rectangular terminals. An oval number plate displaying the number 15 is located on the north-east side of the bridge.
