Description

This small aqueduct, built in 1797 by engineer John Rennie, carries the Lancaster Canal over Sharoe Brook. It is constructed from hammer-dressed sandstone and features a cylindrical tubular conduit that runs through the canal embankment. On the west side, there is a semi-circular funnel-shaped portal, while the east side is likely similar but has not been inspected. The aqueduct is topped with broad flat coping that extends down to square terminals. It is located approximately 200 meters north of Canal Bridge No. 14.
