Description
The farmhouse and farm buildings at Catlow Hall Farm, originally known as Catlow Fold Farm and Catlow Hall, likely originated around 1600, with significant refurbishment in 1666. The building is constructed of a mix of cement-washed, pebbledashed, and exposed stone, and has a stone slate roof. It comprises a main range with a cross wing and a rear wing, and is extensively altered. The front of the house features three gables, with a round-headed doorway roughly in the centre. Most windows have been replaced, although those in the central section retain their original proportions. A stepped four-light window illuminates the attic within the central gable. The garden front features a double-sash window with a stone mullion on the ground floor, alongside three windows retaining 17th-century chamfered details, with only one mullion visible on the earliest examples. Above, two 17th-century windows remain: one with the central mullion removed and another with all mullions lost, interspersed with three more recent windows installed in 1983. A date stone was originally present, reportedly dated July 1666. According to records from the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, the east wing retains original features, including king post roof trusses, one displaying V struts.
