Description
Hollins Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century, with 19th-century additions. It is constructed from coursed rubble sandstone and features Welsh slate and stone slate roofs. The building is two storeys high with attics and has a 2:1 bay configuration. At the rear, there is a two-storey outshut and a low lean-to, as well as a two-storey wing to the rear left. The farmhouse has large quoins and a door set within a late 19th-century gabled one-storey porch on the left side.
The windows are ovolo-moulded mullioned types with hoodmoulds, including a bay window with two lights, a six-light window with a king mullion, and a five-light window set back. The first-floor windows comprise two, three, and four lights. There are 19th-century corbels and gable copings, along with truncated stacks at each end and between the second and third bays. On the left return, there is a two-light first-floor window similar to the front, and an early 19th-century wing on the left features square-faced mullioned windows with dripstones. The right return has several original windows, some of which are blocked.
