Description
Nether Highfield is a house, probably built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys tall on the north side and features a cellar that is accessed from the south at a lower ground level. The main entrance is located in the north wall, and to the right of this doorway is a 17th-century four-light window with rebated and chamfered mullions, which has been re-used and inverted. The cellar includes two doorways in the north wall, each with dressed stone surrounds and segmental heads. The windows on the ground and first floors have a shallow chamfer; originally, they were all three-light windows, but they have been altered to feature a central mullion, resulting in two lights on each floor. On the ground floor, there is a blocked window to the left and a blocked door architrave of 18th-century style, which now contains a window.
