Description

This structure consists of a wall and two pairs of entrance piers that enclose the southeast side of the car park of the Midland Hotel in Morecambe. It was designed by Oliver Hill and built in 1933. The wall is finished with painted render and features curved ends at the two entrances, which are topped with ramped spirals. These design elements were highlighted in promotional photographs taken shortly after the hotel was completed and are integral to the original design.
