Description
The Queen's Hotel is a public house located on Marine Road Central in Morecambe, dating from the mid-19th century, with possible documentation from 1852. The building is rendered with painted stone dressings and features a hipped artificial slate roof. It has a symmetrical design comprising three storeys and three bays, with chamfered quoins. The windows are framed with stone surrounds; the ground floor windows are 20th-century casements that mimic the appearance of glazing bar sashes. The first-floor windows have large panes of glass with casements above, while the second-floor windows are sashes without glazing bars. The window surrounds on the ground and first floors have dentilled cornices, which are also present on the central pilaster doorcase. There are no chimneys. The right-hand return wall facing Queen Street is treated similarly to the front, but lacks cornices over the windows.
