Description
Chapel House Farmhouse, dating from the mid-18th century, is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with two bays. On the first floor, there are flush chamfered mullioned windows with glazing bars. The left-hand ground-floor window has been altered to include a fixed light and a sashed light separated by a mullion, while the right-hand window, which was originally a two-light window, has had its mullion removed. A porch located between the bays has a doorway with plain reveals and a coping with kneelers. The house has gable chimneys, and to the left, there is a lower addition with a blank front wall. The rear wall of this addition features a wide doorway with a stone lintel and a window with a plain stone surround and glazing bars. The rear wall of the house includes a stair window with glazing bars and a transom. Inside, the house showcases exposed chamfered ceiling beams, and the attic contains two trusses with tie beams that support the floor and have collars.
