Description
Peel House is a mid-18th century warehouse that has been converted into flats in 1980. It is constructed from squared coursed sandstone and features a slate roof. The building is approximately 15 meters deep and has a gabled facade that is about 6 meters wide. It stands four storeys tall, plus an attic and a cellar, and consists of two bays with raised quoins on the left side. The openings have plain stone surrounds, and single-pane glazing was added during the conversion in 1980. Under the gable, which is topped with a coped kneeler, there is a single attic window. The right-hand window on the ground floor is set within a blocked door surround that has five external steps leading up to it. The cellar opening is also blocked, and the left-hand return wall facing Pine Street features a loading slot that has been glazed.
