Description
This is a 17th-century house with later additions, located in Tatham. The external walls are constructed of rubble masonry and covered by a slate roof. The original north-east facing section comprises two bays. The left-hand ground floor window originally had four lights, and retains its central mullion. This window has glazing bars, a hood mould, and a surround featuring a rebate, roll moulding, and chamfer. To the right is a window with glazing bars, set within a rebated and chamfered surround. The first floor has one window with plain reveals and one with a rebated and chamfered surround. The left-hand gable wall has lean-to additions on the ground floor and a single-light chamfered window on the first floor. The right-hand gable wall features a projecting stack with offsets; a stone corbel built into its left side is located above the base of a former cheese press. Further additions, dating to the 18th or early 19th century, extend to the north-west and consist of two bays with windows and doors having plain reveals. Internally, the original part of the house has an exposed roof truss on the first floor, characterised by a tie beam, raking queen struts, and a ceiled area above the collar, with decorative moulding in the collar's centre.
