Description

The summer house at Ortner, marked as 'Pleasure Tower' on the 1840s six-inch Ordnance Survey map, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a hipped slate roof with a square plan and two storeys. The windows on three sides have plain stone surrounds, while the north wall has cantilevered stone steps leading to a doorway on the first floor. The south wall includes a ground-floor doorway with a plain stone surround. Currently, the structure is in a dilapidated condition, with missing doors and window frames. The summer house at Lower Lee is almost identical to this one.
