Description
Lower Greenbank is a house built in 1676, which has been altered over time. It features slobbered rubble construction and a slate roof, with two storeys and an attic. The south wall has two bays containing windows with plain stone surrounds; these are sashed with glazing bars, except for the right-hand ground floor window, which is modern and offset to the right. Between the bays is a chamfered one-light window, and above it on the first floor is a three-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window. Under the eaves, there is a blocked one-light chamfered window, and the attic is illuminated by two timber dormers. The house has gable chimneys.
On the north wall, there is a drip course to the left of the door, beneath which is a rebated and chamfered window with one remaining mullion. The wall above this window is blank. Above and to the right of the door is another three-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window. The door itself features a chamfered surround with a shaped lintel inscribed with 'TGC 1676'. To the right, a wing projects forward; its east wall has a ground-floor window with a plain stone surround, and on the first floor, there are windows with similar surrounds and six-pane sashes. On the ground floor to the left, there is a blocked door with a plain stone surround.
