Description

Saltermire Bridge (No 141) is a bridge over the Lancaster Canal that was opened in 1819. It is constructed from large punched limestone blocks and features a single semi-elliptical arch with a projecting keystone. The bridge has a solid parapet with flat-topped coping and a string course underneath. The western ends of the parapets have been modified to align with the adjoining motorway bridge.
