Description
Sandbeds Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1700 that has been altered over time. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a slate roof, featuring a T-plan layout and two storeys. The front of the house, which was modified in the early 20th century, consists of three bays. The windows are sash style, with glazing bars in their upper halves, and all have plain reveals. The ground floor windows have paired sashes separated by a rendered mullion. The central bay contains a door with a moulded surround and a shaped lintel. There are gable chimneys on the roof.
The rear wing of the farmhouse retains some original windows. The north-east wall features two bays with chamfered or rebated and chamfered windows, where the left-hand bay still has its mullions and includes a drip course. The south-west wall has similar windows, including one with two lights and a single light above, which illuminates the stairs, and another with three lights on the first floor. Inside, there is a chamfered shouldered fireplace and an open-well staircase from around 1700, which has a closed string and turned balusters.
