Description
This barn, located south of Eskrigge House, likely dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a slate roof. The north wall has a wide entrance with plain reveals, which is covered by an external sliding door. To the right of this entrance is another door with plain reveals. The east gable wall includes a concrete lean-to addition that partially obscures the quoins at its southern corner. One of these quoins is carved with a 'Celtic' head, and further symbolic carving can be found inside the addition on part of the same stone. Below this quoin, there is a larger, cruder carved head, which is probably an imitation of the first.
