Description

This is a house, likely built around 1775 and altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of sandstone ashlar with ashlar dressings, chamfered quoins, and coursed rubble to the side. The roof is slate, with a gable stack on the left. The house has two storeys with an attic and a basement, and it is three bays wide. The right-hand bay on the ground floor features a lintelled waggon entrance, and the front door comprises six raised and fielded panels set within the return wall. A mid-19th century single-storey extension is located to the left. Windows are characterised by moulded architraves; the upper windows have 12-pane sashes, while the lower ones have 4-pane sashes. A prominent cornice with a balustrade runs along the top of the building. Several balusters have been removed, likely early in the building's history, to make way for two dormer windows above bays one and three. Cast-iron area railings with urn finials on the standards and scrolled brackets flank the property. Inside, a partition wall on the right side of the cellar features large segmental arches at a low level.
