Description
No. 12 New Street is a mid-18th century warehouse that has been converted into an estate agent's office. The building is constructed from coursed and roughly dressed sandstone, featuring ashlar dressings, and has a slate roof. It has a deep rectangular plan and stands four storeys tall above a cellar. There are bays on either side of a loading slot, which is slightly off-centre to the right and has plate-glass windows on each floor. The right side has projecting quoins, while the left-hand windows are wider than those on the right, which likely illuminated the staircase. All upper openings have slightly projecting painted stone surrounds and recent joinery. The ground floor features a late 20th-century shop front. Inside, the cellar staircase is located in the middle of the building and runs parallel to the street.
