Description
The New Inn is a public house built in 1775, constructed from watershot sandstone and topped with a slate roof. It has two storeys and a main facade consisting of two bays. This part features sashed windows with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. The entrance door, located between the bays, also has a plain stone surround and is sheltered by a hood supported on brackets. Above the door, there is a plaque inscribed with 'F.C. Smith 1775'.
To the right of the main part, there are two additional bays that match the original construction, featuring sashed windows with plain reveals. The rightmost bay includes a door with a plain stone surround. On the left side, there is an added bay that is set back at an angle; it has a ground floor window with a plain stone surround, twin sashes without glazing bars, and a central flat-faced mullion. The first floor of this bay features a large sash window with a plain stone surround.
Projecting from the right side of the facade is a former stable that extends at a right angle. Its east wall has a door on the left with a plain stone surround, and to the right, there is a window with plain reveals. Additionally, there is a first-floor pitching door with a plain stone surround. The building features chimneys on either side of the two main bays and to the right of the facade.
