Description

Canal Bridge Number 111D is a bridge over the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, built around 1810 by engineers Robert Whitworth and Joseph Priestley. It is constructed from coursed sandstone blocks and features an elliptical arch with rock-faced voussoirs. The bridge has bands and parapets with ridged copings, as well as pilastered ends on the north side. Two pipes pierce the abutments and cross the arch. This bridge forms a group with numbers 49-53 Blackburn Road, which is the Canal Warehouse.
