Description
16 and 18 Henry Street are a pair of cottages, likely built between 1840 and 1850, with some alterations. The cottages have cobble walls with sandstone dressings, which are now covered by roughcast render painted white, and feature a slate roof. They are designed with a double-depth plan and each has a single front. The cottages are two stories tall and have a total of 1+2 windows.
No. 16 includes a gabled porch at the second bay, featuring a chamfered doorway, a hoodmould, and projecting eaves and verges with a finial. It also has a three-light mullioned window on each floor to the left, with the upper window located under a small gabled dormer. No. 18 has a plain doorway to the right, a three-light mullioned window to the left, and two more above, all with hoodmoulds. There are two ridge chimneys. These cottages form a group with No. 14, which is adjacent to the left, and with Nos. 13 and 15 located opposite.
